Will dated 28 Jan 1711-12, proved 23 Jun 1715. Gravestone: "Here lyes ye body of the Honourable James Warren Esq'r who deceased Jan. ye 29th, 1715, in ye 50th year of his age."

From "The Boston News-Letter" for June 13 to 20, 1715: "Plymouth, June 13. On the 29th of May last Dyed James Warren Esq; of this Town,..." This article also transcribes the gravestone as "Here lyeth ye body of the Honourable James Warren Esq'r who deceased June ye 29th 1715 in ye 50th year of his age." From Plymouth Church Records, list of "Members Dyed": "James Warren Esq'r in ye 50th year of his Age : In June 1715 An Exceeding loss to ye church Town & County". Plymouth Town Records 2:149: "At A Town Meeting held at plimouth May 9th 1715 The Town Mad Choyce of Capt James Warren Esquir to be Their Representative". Then on next page: "At A Town Meeting held at Plimouth on ye 7th of June 1715 Major John Bradford was Chosen Representative in ye Rome of Capt James Warren Deceased". Finally, Mass. General Court, p. 9:438, "James Warren Esq'r" sworn in as a Representative on 25 May 1715. Thus it appears the death occurred between 25 May 1715 and 7 June 1715, so the town records may be correct, give or take a day.
