Then in 1920 he was 39, which matches with the 1900 census record. To further complicate matters, his headstone and death certificate indicate his birth is 02 Feb 1880. Now, if the month was recorded incorrectly in 1900, this would match and he would have been 20 in 1900, but 40 in 1920.
