JAMES SMELSER
Funeral service for James H. Smelser, 59, a resident of Fallon for 40 years, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Austin Funeral Home in Fallon.

Rev. Joseph H. Pritchard of Epworth Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Fallon Cemetery.

Smelser's body was found Monday at a target range near Fallon. He apparently died of natural causes, authorities there said.

He was born Sept. 22, 1904, in Battle Mountain. A U.S. Civil Service electrician, Smelser was employed by military installations at Fallon and Hawthorne.

Survivors include his widow, Mary Lou, Fallon; a daughter, Marilyn; a step-son Charles Trueman, and a step-daughter, Sandra Trueman, all of Fallon.
