According to IGI records, he was the son of William Siddons (1804-1884) and Elizabeth Wilson (1810-1837). He married Mary Adeline Sisk (Sicks/Six) in 1846 in Boone Co., Indiana. Based on Warren co. Newspaper index items, they had children: Melinda J. 1848-1925 IL m. Samuel Miller; William, Nancy E. 1855- m. James W. Young; John W. 1858-1875; and Charles F.

 In the 1860 census for Steuben, Warren Co., Indiana, James Siddons is 31 farmer from (Indiana); with Mary 31 Kentucky; Malinda 9; William 6 IL, Nancy 4 IL, John 2 IL and Charles 1 mo. IL. {p. 169}
 In the 1870 census for Steuben, Warren Co., Indiana, James 'Siddens' is 41 born Indiana, farmer; with Mary A. 41 KY; Melinda J. 19; William 16 'farm laborer'; Nancy E. 14; John W. 12 'farm laborer'; Charles F. 10; and Mary A. Cox 1 -- all born Indiana. They are next door to Elijah Byers. {p.64 / 356 roll 368 HeritageQuest}
 In the 1880 census for Steuben, Warren Co., Indiana, James 'Siddens' is 51 born Indiana,(parents Kentucky), farmer; with Mary A. 51 KY; Charles 20 IN 'farmer'; and Mary A. Cox 'other' is 10 IN. 'Amonda Jones' 14 IN is a servant. {p. 54c}   Nancy E. and husband James W. Young are found in Bismarck, Vermilion Co., Illinois with daughter Mabel. Malinda, husband Samuel R. Miller and children are on the same page. William and family are also in Steuben. I have not found Malinda. I believe son John was the John Wesley who died in 1875.
 In the 1900 census for Steuben, Warren Co., Indiana, James 'Siddens' is 71 b. Mar 1829 IN (parents Kentucky), 'retired farmer', married 53 years; wife Mary is 71 born Mar 1829 in Kentucky (parents same), with 3 of 6 children living; grandson Earl is 11 born May 1889 in Illinois (parents Indiana). {ed 124, sh 7b, p. 87, roll 411 HeritageQuest}
 I believe the three surviving children were William, Melinda and Charles.  In 1900, Nancy's husband James Young is listed as a widower with his daughters in Vermilion Co., Illinois. Melinda and Samuel R. Miller are listed in Newell. There is a Charles Siddons, 40 IN, also living in Danville, Vermillion Co., alone.
 There is a death record for Malinda Jane Miller, died 1925 in Vermilion Co., IL.
