James SHORTRIDGE was b. 27feb1760, chr 14mar1760 at Glasgow (familysearch). Margaret McCall (4aug1766-1836, dau of John McCall and Helen Cross) married (1786) James Shortredge (d. 1824, age 64) who changed his name to Spreull (source unclear). John McCall (abt 1715-1790 Glasgow) was son of Samuel McCall and Margaret; John married Helen Cross (1739 Glasgow-1808), dau of Robert Cross and Sarah Thomson (web).
