James Sheppard James Foy "Jim" Sheppard, 72, 1095 Old Bristol Hwy., Elizabethton, died Friday, October 10, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was a native of Roan Mtn. Mr. Sheppard had operated Jim's Transmission Shop for 40 years prior to his illness. He had formerly pastored the High Point Memorial Baptist Church, Roan Mtn., for 16 years. He was a member of the Biltmore Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by four brothers. Survivors include a son, Mahlon Sheppard, Elizabethton; a sister, Gustia Sheppard, Hampton, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
