James Sevier, son of John Sevier, Jr. , by his second wife, Sarah Richards Sevier, was evidently named for his father's bother. He went to Indiana. In an old letter, now in possession of the family, written by Robert E. Sevier (son of Michael) to his uncle, John Garoutte Sevier, he says : “I have found some new kinspeople, James Thompson Sevier, son of your brother James who went to Indiana." This letter is dated 1871. This James Thompson Sevier lived at Russellville, Ark.
