Notes from a Letter by Frankie (Canning) MacArthur From Letter dated 1993 1993 - From a letter written by Doris (Faris) Joslin to Norrie Wilson: " I am going to write what Frankie (Canning) and Grant (MacArthur) found out in England when they were over ; ' James Rennie's mother was one of the ship building Wilson's of England and friends of Edward VII to whom they lent money on occassions. Jame's mother married a poor soldier __?_ Rennie and was promptly disinherited by her parents. An old tombstone was found leaning against another in Mount Pleasant Cemetery between Bradford and Churchill on # 11 Highway saying "James Rennie died March 14th, 1872 and Elizabeth Rennie wife of James Died age 65 yrs 7 mos. - date obliterated because of a crack in stone. Grice connections known to the family - Laura Grice McMullen of Chatham, daughters Ada and Edith Laurel visited by my parents; Laura and Frank Canning on their honeymoon in 1907".
