    "23. James Redfield, ninth son of Theophilus (8), son of James (4), was a private in Capt. Peleg Redfield's company during the campaign of 1759. He married about 1760, Sarah Grinnell of Pochaug (Westbrook), in the town of Saybrook, and a year or two after removed from Killingworth to Westbrook. He became a mariner, and was known as Capt. James Redfield. He died April 3, 1788, aged 53 years. His widow died October 23, 1793."
