- ↑ Mary Coats is often named as the wife of James Quinn on undocumented genealogies. No record for the marriage exists, no records for Mary's birth or death seem to exist (information reported for Mary Coats is often "borrowed" from one of the documented wives for James Quinn), but it is possible that he had a wife prior to his probable marriage to Mary Keel.
