This Indenture made this six day of August 1791 BETWEEN William Roper of the county of Brunswick of the one part and Joel Roper of the county of Dinwitty of the other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds . . . do grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Joel Roper . . . a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Brunswick and Parrish of St. Andrews on the head of Red Oak Creek and bounded as followeth vizt., BEGINNING on Drury Stith's line thence along the said Stith's line to William Martains line thence along his line to James Quarles's line thence along the said Quarles line to the BEGINNING containing by estimation one hundred acres . . .
