   Sometimes going to grandma's house can be a little boring for a you ng boy-- especially on Sundays during the 1950's.

Do you remember how the world came to an absolute standstill on Sunday s!

Well two men that I remember helping bring a little sunshine into those ot herwise [from the view of a young kid] dull Sundays was Uncle Jim Ponset ti and Uncle Don Babb. They actually talked to me and acted as if th ey were interested.

I remember Jim as an easy going happy individual who smoked these really a wful smelling cigars. One day as he was talking to me he opened his wall et and handed me a dollar bill [big money for a kid]. I tried to gi ve it back to him but he said that he wanted me to have it. I think he w as just trying to be a very nice individual to this little kid who norma lly did not say much.

Uncle Don too was a very pleasant, easy talking individual. I remember h im because he would ask me questions about my thoughts. At the time I w as amazed as most of the adults in my life did not show this type of int erest about my ideas and opinions.

Anyway, I remember these two because they took some time out of their liv es to spend with this shy skinny kid who normally blended into the backg round
