Sacred to the Memory of Rev James Pollock who died Jan 22nd 1848 aged about 86 yrs. He was a native of Ireland lived 60 years in this country. 42 of which he professed Christianity the Doctrine and practice of which he exemplified in his walk through life. He was a subject of conventing grace through the labors of the early Emmanuel Ministers of the Methodist E (Episcopal) church to which he gave in small talents and substance. The spirit and Godly simplicity of which he nobly defended. He was a soldier of the cross, a follower of the lamb. He did not fear to own his cause nor blush to speak his name.
