Family tree▼ Facts and Events
James Plummer was baptised on 20th February 1764 at Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire, son of William and Ann Plummer. On 22nd March 1786, when he was 22 years old, he married Ann Ambrose in the nearby village of Studham in Bedfordshire. They went on to have several children at Studham between 1786 and 1812, although at least two died young. Several of their children were all baptised on the same day in 1811. Ann died in 1837, aged 69. After Ann's death, James went to live with his daughter Elizabeth (or Eliza) who had married a George Chennells in 1827 and lived at the hamlet of St Margaret's in the parish of Ivinghoe, just south of Studham. James appears living with Eliza's family in the 1841 census there, when he was described as an agricultural labourer. James died at the start of 1843, aged 78. It seems likely that he died at Ivinghoe as his death was registered in the Leighton Buzzard district which included Ivinghoe, rather than the Luton district which included Studham. He was buried back at Studham where he had lived most of his adult life. References
