Facts and Events
James Nance was a farmer. He is buried at Union Methodist Church Cemetery, next to his daughter, Ida Nance Owens, in Wellington, Calhoun County, Alabama. He served in the Civil War in Co. H. Alabama Infantry. He was captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 4th, 1863 and later released at Enterprise, Mississippi about July 2, 1864. He served in Lee`s Brigade, Stevenson`s Division. |
