    2. James McFerran, born 1770, was sued for Breech of Promise in 1799, by Nancy Franklin. He was judged not guilty.

  2.   Nancy Franklin sued James McFerran in Botetourt Co VA, per Citation shown above. He pleaded "Not Guilty" but a jury of 12 of his male peers found him "guilty in all manner and form" and was ordered to pay her $250.00 plus her costs in this case dated 15 Aug 1799. A male child born in Aug 1798 to Nancy Franklin has been proven to be a McFerran through Y-DNA testing.
