Address at date of marriage: High Street, Maybole. James worked at Broadhead farm at Craigie (?) as a servant. Records from Ellis Island show: James and Isabella M'Dowall from Maryhill, Scotland and their six children emigrated on 7 May 1910 on the Furnessia, from Glasgow Scotland. Arrival 16 May. They were going to stay with Isabella's brother Frank Crawford in 89 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ. Children: Frank 11, David 9, Annie 7, James 5, Robert 3, and Margaret 10 mths. All family members are described as having dark complexion, dark hair and gray eyes. Nearest relative in home country: father David McDowall in Croft Cottage, Maryhill.
