From Owingsville Outlook Paper J.M. McDonald, aged 82 years died at his home near town Feb. 7. Burial in the family burying ground. -------------------------- book 1 page 469 State of Kentucky Bath County The report of James M. McDaniel (should be McDonald) Guardian for John, Andrew and Mary Warner infant orphans (they were not orphans because their mother was still alive) of William P. Warner deceased who makes the following report to wit. 1855 Feb To amount of cash received of William P. Warners Administrator for the three wards it being for (blanks space) The (blank Space) of the land (blank space) $115.00 The above is all that has come to my hands as Guardian my three wards own the eight of a tract of about 400 acres of land on Slate Creek in Bath County subject to widows dower the lands has not yet been divided. The land is worth about $30.00 per acre. The shares rent is worth about $(blank) per acre. Also 3 eights of two shares subject to widows dower my wards have a distributable interest of three eighths in the personal estate of William P. Warner deceased but how much it will be I can't state as the estate is not yet settled. The land will be divided this spring Feb. 12th, 1855 signed James McDonald Guardian State of Kentucky Bath County I R.H. Conner Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this Guardian report of James M. McDonald was this day produced in open court, approved and ordered to be recorded whereupon the same with this certificate has been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 12th Feby 1855 signed R.H. A settlement had with J.M. McDonald guardian of John Warner on March 10th 1856 as follows towit. To cash on hand as per settlement Nov. 9th 1855 $138.83 1/3 Int on same to date 2.76 To rent of land 1855 45.75 ------------------ total recipts $187.34 1/3 By new & RR Tax 1855 no. 1 (A&B) 3.62 ------------------- $183.72 By (can't read) for this settlement 1.50 By fees for recording this settlement 2.65 -------------------- Balance in guardians hands March 10th 1855 $181.07 By gardians commisions & services 5.00 --------------------- $176.07 By John J. Warners receipt no. 2 given this day $176.07 --------------------- 000.00 State of Kentucky Bath County I R.H. Conner clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do certify that this settlement J.M. McDonald Guardian of John J. Warner was this day produced in open court, approved and ordered to be recorded. Whereupon the same with this certificate has been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 10 March 1856 signed R.H. McDonald Guard of Mary F. Warner ( this is the minor daughter of the late William B. Warner) in my office on the 11th day of February 1860 as follows towit For amount due from Guard at date of settlement made 9th of November 1855. $134.34 To int. on same to this date 36.69 To rent of land for 1856 due 1st Jany 1857 38.00 To int. of same from 1st Jany 57 to date 6.84 To rent of land for 1857 due 1st Jany 1858 38.00 To int. on same to date 4.56 -------- To whole amt. to this date $258.43 Credits By taxes paid and receipts lost see statement of Guard filed No. 1 $10.72 To Tuition Bill 1856 No. 2 1.50 To int. on same .25 To O S Bigstaffs bill No. 3 $27.00 To int. on same 1.60 To C H Hoons bill for coffin No. 4 $35.00 To int. on same to date 2.45 To guard services 5.00 To com fee for this settlement 1.50 To Clerks fee for recording this settlement 1.25 $ 86.38 ------------------------------------- To bal. due from Guard $172.06 State of Kentucky Bath County I John D Young Presiding Judge of Bath County Court do certify the above is a true statement of a settlement this day made with J. M. McDonald Guard of Mary F. Warner and I find from said settlement there is in his hands the sum of one hundred and seventy two dollars and 06 cents. Given under my hand this 11th day of Feby 1860. Warner was this day produced in open court approved and ordered to be recorded whereupon the same with the certificate thereto annexed and this certificate has been duly admitted to record in my office.
