    c 6. James M. McCombs, born 1815, died in Chicago, Ill. Was established in the hardware business in St. Louis, and formerly in Memphis, Tennessee, in the year 1865. Passing his store one morning I called to see him. He was a perfect picture of the McCombs. About 5 feet 8 inches, dark hair, full beard, about 160 pounds, a punctual, energetic business man.
