[edit] Information on James McClellandFrom Genforum.com post: Re: Robert McClellan, 1770-1815 PA-MO Posted by: don weedin (ID *****3604) Date: September 18, 2004 at 17:03: In Reply to: Robert McClellan, 1770-1815 PA-MO by Nick Sheedy of 2465 Your information on Robert McClelland is correct except for the name of his Father. Dict. of Amer. Biograph, Vol XI is incorrect as to Roberts family. The father of Robert was James McClelland who died 1802 in Mercersburg, PA, Mother was Martha McCoy. 1st son was William, B 1767, 2nd son was Robert, B 1770, D 1815. James was a farmer and a Vet. of Rev. War (Private, Horseman in Capt William Huston's Company, Cumberland, PA). Robert was a scout for Gen. Wayne and Robert was a Horseman for Wayne (William is my GGG Grandfather). Much information can be found on both Robert and William in "Pioneer Biograph, Sketches of the Lives of some of the Early Settlers of Butler Co, OH", Chap. VIII which is titled Robert McClellan, By James McBride of Hamilton. Robert's brother William died in 1827 in Hamilton, OH. I have much information on this family. Don Weedin Poulsbo, Washington
