On May 5, 1848, James Manrow bought 40 acres from Nathan Herrendeen in the nortwest 1/4 of Section 14, Ransom Township., Hillsdale Co., Michigan. James paid $120 and at the time of this land purchase, he was a resident of Farmington, Ontario Co., NY. Apparently, this family moved to Farmington sometime between 1846, when Ersula was born, and May 5, 1848. The Manrows made another move to Ransom Twp., Mi, sometime between May 5, 1848, and the 1850 Census, which lists this family in Ransom Township: James W. Manrow, 30; Alvira, 26, Ersula 4, and Albon, age 1. On September 23, 1850, james, then a resident of Ransom twp., bought 20 more acres in Section 14, Ransmon Twp., for $65.00. James Manrow died between September 1850 and March 1954. No death record has been found, or cemetery record. TO BE CONTINUED. References
