James Malone, Sr was born in Ireland and immigrated to the USA sometime before 1790. According to THE HISTORY OF HARRISON COUNTY (WV), by Henry Haymond, " The naturalization of Charles Stratton, William Ennis, and James Malone took place during the court under the act of Congress passed in 1790."
On 2 January 1792 in Harrison Co, Virginia (now West Virginia), James married Elizabeth Findlay. Elizabeth was the daughter of Archibald Findlay and his wife, Sarah.
