    James MABRY10 was born circa 1739 in Brunswick County, Virginia. He died circa 1782 at the age of 43 in Union District, South Carolina.

    p.260 22 Sep 1757 George Mabury, Sr. to Isaac Mabury of Granville Co. 30#'s. 250 acres on the river at the mouth of a branch except the mill and 5 acres, part of a patent to Thomas Harrington for 300 acres on 2 Feb 1728. Wit: Francis Williams, Susannah (X) Mabury, James (X) Mabury. Rec. Feb Court 1758.

    James was one of the executors of his father's will in Dec of 1770 and James presented it for probate at the Rowan Co NC Court 3 Feb 1773.

    After his father's death, James moved to South Carolina. 2 Apr 1774, he bought 250 acres, south side of the Pacolet River in Union County. He bought another 191 acres on 10 Jan 1776. These deeds were not recorded until 1797, well after his death. His wife's name is unknown.

    In 1779, James appeared on both Petit and Grand Jury lists for the Spartan Division of what is now Union, Spartanburg & Cherokee Counties.

    A voucher was submitted to South Carolina, 2 Jun 1783, by James's son, Jesse Mabry, requesting payment for corn, beef, mutton & Port provided to soldiers during the Revolution. James had delivered 30 bushels of corn on 29 Dec 1780 - so he died sometime between then and 1783.
