James W. "Jim" Loughner, 82, of Greensburg (Hempfield Township), died Thursday, May 8, 2008, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, with his wife by his side. He was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Harrison City, a son of the late John H. and Carrie I. Loughner. Prior to retirement, Jim was employed by the Jeannette Sheet Glass Factory. He was an Army veteran, having served in the 28th Tank Battalion during World War II. He liked reading his Bible and riding motorcycles. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine E. (Fulmer) Loughner; two brothers, Howard Loughner and Albert Loughner; and four sisters, Evelyn Loughner, Helen Loughner, Irene Kohl and Florence Ruffner. Jim will be missed and is survived by his loving family; his devoted wife of 51 years, Mary "Betty" (Brennan) Loughner; his blended family of 11 children, James A. Loughner, Harry P. Hilty, Raymond K. Loughner, John M. Loughner, Gary A. Trice Jr., Stephen P. Trice, Deborah Trice, Charlene Loughner, Sherri Loughner Corsaro and her husband John, Crystal Loughner Bittner and her husband Greg, and Trisha Loughner; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; several nieces; and a nephew.
