THE WAIRAKAPA RELIEF FUND - Timaru Herald, Volume LVII, Issue 1632, 14 December 1894, Page 3. James was given 10 pounds, but he had lost 100 pounds from their house they sold, trade tools and his wife which would not have been much consolation for him. He returned back to Australia and married his second wife.
