FINAL TRIBUTE TO BE RENDERED JAMES STUART KENDRICK Funeral Services to Be Conducted at First Methodist Church onSaturday Afternoon

Last rites for James Stuart Kendrick, widely known Ardmorebusiness, civic and fraternal leader will be conducted at 2:30P.M. Saturday in the First Methodist Church by the rev. RobertJ. Smith pastor. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery will be under thedirection of Harvey Funeral Home with the Masonic fraternity incharge of the grave side service.

Pallbearers will be members of the board of stewards of theFirst Methodist Church. Kendrick died unexpectedly Thursdaymorning at his home here. He had lived in Ardmore for the past30 years.

At the time of his death, he was serving as eminent commander ofthe Ardmore Commandery, Knights Templar. He also was a memberand past master of the Ardmore Lodge No. 31, member and pasthigh priest of Ardmore Chapter Royal Arch Masons, and member andpast master of Ardmore Council Royal and Select Masters.

He was a man of highest character and was very highly respectedby all who knew him. W. M. Gwyn, secretary-treasurer of theArdmore Milling Company with which he was associated for manyyears, said Friday that "he was always willing and ready to do agood deed in the way of helping anyone in any way he could."

"In his capacity as salesman for the company over nearly 23years, he made many close friends. He always had a warm spot inhis heart for his customers, as well as for his employer and wasfair in all his dealings. His passing is a distinct loss to theentire community as well as to his good family."

Born Near Lexington

He was born Oct. 13, 1888, near Lexington and had been aresident of Oklahoma all his life. Survivors include his wife; adaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Kendrick Harris; and son, Sgt. JohnKendrick, U.S. Army Air Base, Casper, WY; two grandchildren,Diane and Stuart Kent Harris; also his mother, Mrs. FlorenceKendrick, Chickasha, OK; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Mays, Sparks,MD; Mrs. Eva Cooley, Pampa, TX; Mrs. Gertrude Hanley, Lindsay,OK; and Mrs. Daisy Harris, Chickasha, OK; and a brother, TomKendrick, San Diego, CA.
