OBIT: CLARKSVILLE TIMES 28 Jan 1955 '20 Years Ago' passed away at the Confederate Home in Austin TX, he was 90 years old Jan 13th (1935), died before 28 Jan 1935, Obit has him as 'Captain', CLARKSVILLE TIMES 24 Aug 1909, Tuesday, from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Muster Roll of Co F Whitfields 1st TX Cav Legion mustered into Confederate States Service on 7 Mar 1862, transferred from 9th TX Inf to Co F 1st TX Legion in 1863, served through war, now lives near Clarksville.

OBIT: DETROIT NEWS HERALD 31 Jan 1935 from microfilm in the Clarksville Library: Clarksville -- Mr. Jamison, who was 90 years old on January 13, was born near Clarksville and at the age of 16 joined the Southern army, serving 4 years. Services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the home of Will Mahaffey with burial in Clarksville Cemetery. Mr. Jamison died at the Confederate home in Austin Friday. His death leaves only one survivor of an original company of 127 men, T. C. Anderson of Ashdown, Ark., who was present at the services Saturday to make a brief eulogy. Mr. Jamison was commander of the John C. Burks Camp, United Confederate Veterans. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. George Burrows of Texarkana, 3 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
