James Norman "Norm" Hipskind Age 71, of Indianapolis, passed away March 21, 2005. Mr. Hipskind was born in Harvey, Illinois the son of James G. and Irene (Brusnighan) Hipskind. Mr. Hipskin graduated from Notre Dame in 1955 with a B.S. in accounting. Mr. Hipskind was a Jet Pilot in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1962. He was a partner with George S. Olive, where he was a member of the management and consultant division for 20 years from 1962-1982. He worked as a systems and computer consultant from 1982-1992. From 1993-1999, he was the Business Manager for St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mr. Hipskind was a Charter member and past president of the Indianapolis Chapter of the Association of Systems Management, where he earned the "Man of the Year" award. He was Financial Officer for the Indianapolis Archdioceses. He was formerly on the board of Directors for Catholic Social Services and was a former president of the Serra Club of Indianapolis. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church from 1962 to present, where he was the past president of Parish Council and was active in many facets of church life. At the time of his death, Mr. Hipskind was a board member for St. Mary of the Woods College in West Terre Haute, as well as a board member of Carmelite Monastery. Mr. Hipskind is survived by his wife, Julianne A. (Suelzer) Hipskind, whom he married on April 11, 1959. Other survivors include his children: Father Timothy Hipskind, S.J., James (Linda) Hipskind; Maureen (Doug) Lowell, Suzanne (Philip) McHugh, Kevin (Michelle) Hipskind, and Anne Hipskind; 12 grandchildren; and siblings: Suzanne B. Southern, Timothy F. (Gloria) Hipskind; and Jeanette Hipskind, D.O (Linda Thomas). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center- Broad Ripple, with additional calling to be held from 6:30 p.m. to service time at the church. Burial: Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Monastery.
