James Heard was not the son of John Heard of Dover and Elizabeth Hull. He was the son of John Heard of Piscataqua and Sturgeon Creek, Maine and his wife Isabelle.[2][3][4] He had one sibling, Warwick Heard who was accidentally shot in 1647.[5]
