Abigail Heard, born in Kittery, Me., died in Dover after 23 Apr. 1734, daughter of James and Shuah [She was daughter of Abraham Conley. (New England Historic Genealogical Register, 70:185.) NOTE: Libby, Noyes and Goodwin state that she was daughter of Elder Edward Starbuck; see Genealogical Dictionary of Maine and New Hampshire, 321, 657.] (Conley) Heard.
“Abigail Clements of Dover … Widow & one of the daughters of James Heard” of Kittery, dec’d, for money paid her husband, Job Clements, dec’d, by Samuel Lord of Berwick, quits all right to certain land granted her said father, James Heard, 12 Mar. 1733. Acknowledged by Abigail Clements, 23 Apr. 1734. (York Co., Me., Deeds, 13:164.) The date of the acknowledgment is the last mention of Abigail, who was apparently the only wife of Job3 Clements, although he was forty years old when he married her. She was probably much younger than her husband.
