Atherstone St Mary's was a Chapelry of Mancetter. All C of E baptisms would be at Mancetter prior to 1825 and Marriages prior to 1851.

Atherstone also had active Independent Churches, North Street Independent from 1796, Presbyterian from 1765, congregational from 1795.

Parts of Atherstone at the Station end were in the Peculiar Parish of Merevale until 1885.

For Polesworth Dordon became a Parish in it's own right in 1877, and Warton in 1849. Likewise parts of Warton were in the peculiar of Merevale until 1885.
