Hadley, 78, Overland Park, KS passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Village Shalom in Overland Park, KS after a long, courageous and hard fought battle with Parkinson's disease. A service of Jim's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 27, at the Broadway United Methodist Church, 74th & Wornall, Kansas City, MO. Friends may call from 2-3 p.. Saturday at the church prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland, 7800 Foster, Overland Park, KS or to the Broadway United Methodist Church, 406 W 74th Street, Kansas City, MO 64114. Jim was born September 20, 1926 in Tulsa, OK to Frank and Lena (Kidd) Hadley. He grew up in Independence, KS, graduating from Independence High School in 1945. Jim was a graduate of Kansas State University earning both Bachelors (1948) and Masters (1949) degrees in Electrical Engineering. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega and Pi Mu Epsilon Honor Society. Jim went to work for Bendix upon graduation and remained there for 38 years. He held various management positions in the Standards and Metrology Department before retiring in 1988. Jim was a long time delegate and held the office of secretary for the National Conference of Standards Laboratories. He was an active member of the Instrument Society of America, MESTIND division. Jim was also a long time member of IEEE. Jim met his wife, Florence, while working for Bendix in Detroit. They were married October 7, 1950 in Detroit. Jim was a long-time member of the Broadway Untied Methodist Church. Jim loved spending weekends at his Lake of the Ozarks home, running and, above all else, helping others. He had a big heart and was always looking to do for others before himself. His family and many friends will sadly miss him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Ruf. Survivors include his wife, Florence Hadley of the home; son and daughterin-law, David and Julie Hadley, Overland Park, and their children, Christopher and Allison; daughter and son-inlaw, Carol and Alfredo Minopoli, Rome, Italy, and their children, Dario and Luca; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Village Shalom, Pod 2 and Saint Luke's South Intensive Care Unit. (Arrangements: D. W.
