Flanagan Rite Set Monday At Huron Church

Requiem mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am at St. Martin's Catholic Church for James M. Flanagan, 65, Highway 14 west. The Rev. Paul Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery.

Office of the Dead will be recited Sunday at 8 pm at the Weller Funeral Home. Friends may call Sunday afternoon or evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Harry Palmer, Warren Goethel, Ward Houserman, Albert Harstad, Gust Goebring and Marvin Coll.

Flanagan died of a coronary attack Thursday while working at a gravel pit 10 miles north of DeSmet.

He was born Jan. 21, 1900, at Centerville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Flanagan. He came to Huron in 1923 and was employed on construction of Highway 14. He was employed for 33 years as a truck driver for C.P. Rogers, LeRoy Newman and the past three weeks for Brunken Construction Company.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 766.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Art Meyers, Aberdeen, Mrs. Leo Dougherty, Onawa, Iowa, Mrs. Alice Shire and Mrs. Art Menesse, both of Stockton, Calif.; three brothers, William F., Tracy, Minn., Donald, Fremont, Neb., and Ray, Sacramento, Calif.
