James M. Evans
James M. Evans, 70, of Centermoreland, passed away Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Downing and Myrtle Jackson Evans. He attended the Kingston schools. James retired from Diamond Manufacturing, Wyoming, as a tool and die maker, and later was a truck driver for his son-in-law at 3R Electric, Pikes Creek.
He served with the 109th Field Artillery, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Arlene Keefe Evans; daughters, Linda Littleford, Centermoreland, Arlene Rogan, Sweet Valley; grandsons, Francis Rogan, Ashley, Gary Rogan, Dania Beach, Fla.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Dr. William D. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Memorial donations may be made to the Luzerne County S.P.C.A.
