Per Carolyn Davisons Research: James is believed to be the progenitor of the Russell Co Davidson Group. His wifes name at the time of his death is given as Catherine. He moved to Moccasin Creek, Washington County, VA on the first of January 1774. Court records prove he left a will, but all information prior to 1803 has been lost. It is believed that he left his land to his sons James and Daniel. This would be some of same land that Daniel sold before moving to KY about 1801. James Jr. remainded in VA
