Earl Coughenour, 91, Manns Choice RD 1, died Aug. 30, 1986, at Bedford County Memorial Hospital. Born May 30, 1895, in Bedford County, son of the late Lloyd and Laura (Shumaker) Coughenour. Preceded in death by son, Jay, in 1977, and sister, Ruth Deaner. Survived by widow, former Helen Hartge, whom he married March 2, 1922; and daughters: Laverne, wife of Blair Diehl, Manns Choice RD 1, and Mrs. June Landis, Berlin; also 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Brother of: Walter B. Fritz, Latrobe RD 1; Harvey E. Coughenour, Federalsburg, Md.; and Mrs. Irma Elbin, Buffalo Mills, RD l. Retired farmer and self-employed custom sawmiller. Member of Cumberland No. 45 Loyal Order of Eagles. Friends were received Monday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, and will be received from 9 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Timothy Helms officiating.
