Jim, I found James (33) and Delilah (18) Cheek in the 1850 Charleston, Coles Co., IL census (it stated that he was born in Indiana ... as were his two sisters living with him, Nancy 28 and Hannah 25) and then Delilah (46) again in the 1880 North Okaw, Coles Co., IL census (as a widow) . I'd never heard of this James Cheek (and I have 6,000+ Cheeks in my database). Have you learned anymore about this Cheek family since your August 2001 posting on the Cheek Family Genealogy Forum. I'm publishing a book on the Cheek family in a short while, and would like to include this Cheek family.
