James L. Brown, 94, of Frankfort, died February 7, 2021 at Wesley Manor. Jim was born February 6, 1927 in Clinton County to Zinn & Mary (Laughner) Brown.
He was a graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Tampa Watchmaker School. He was a watchmaker and co-owner of J & D Jewelry Store, in Frankfort, Ind.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, during WWII and served from 1945-1947.
In April of 1949 he married Bonnie Catron.
He served on the Frankfort City Council from 1964-1968, then was elected Mayor of the City of Frankfort, serving until 1972. He was a member of the Moose, VFW, American Legion and the former Frankfort Country Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Jami Bell, 2 Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral Services: During the current climate, we encourage family and friends to memorialize Jim in their own way. An opportunity for sharing and fellowship may be planned in the future.
