1910 Medford MA census shows James was a Hotel Clerk helper at age 17 OBITUARY: James H Bowen, 70 of 159 Grand St, formerly of 277 Hildreth St, well know resident of this city, and a veteran of World War I, died yesterday in the Veteran's Hospital in Jamaica Plain. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred A (Hall) Bowen, four sons, Charles E Bowen of Lowell, Perry K Gill of Newton, Robert Gill of Billerica, and Frank Gill of Ft. Lauderdale, VL; three brothers, john Bowen of Arlington, Charles Bowen of medford and Lee Bowen of Stoneham. Mr. Bowen was born in Medford, the son of the late Patrick and Sarah (Roche) Bowen, but had resided in Lowell for thirty years. Lowell Sun, Saturday, November 23, 1963, Lowell, Massachusetts. He lived at 518 Princeton Blvd, Lowell, MA. when Charles Bowen registered for the draft. He gave Charles as who new him well. There is a discrepacy as to what his middle name is.
