James Blair

V. James Blair of that ilk, who adhered firmly to the interest of King David Bruce, from whom (for his good and faithful services) he got a grant of several tenements of land about the town of Ayr, which formerly pertained to Adam ____surgeon in Air, and which fell into the king’s hands by forfeiture, etc. This is confirmed by a charter under the great seal from the said King David, dated at Edinburgh, the 3rd day of February, 39th year of his reign, 1368.
He left issue two sons.
1. James, his heir.
2. John, progenitor of the Blairs of Adamton, as in the following title.
He died in the end of the reign of the said King David, and was succeeded by his eldest son, James Blair VI.
