Born:December 20, 1888 Place: Sipes Springs, Texas Died December 28, 1945 (think the date is wrong) Place:Abilene,Texas I can not open the document either..so here goes. James(Jim) Madison Black and Ada C. Andrews were married on January 21, 1921. They owned and operated several restaurants. They had two sons James Madison Black, Jr. born December 29, 1922 and Sydney McLemore (Mack) Black born August 19, 1924.Graduated from Harden Simmons in Abilene..died August 1, 1950..loved his new neice (Jan) and thought she looked just like him...which at that time she did..James played college football when he returned from WWII. He went to Texas A & I In Kingsville, now changed to another name but graduated from McMurry University in Abilene I did not know Mr. Black, and Ada had roomers and boarders when we married..I know they both worked very hard all the time. Summers the restaurants were closed for refinishing....Every year these were all cleaned and replace what needed to be. They did have a little time to do some traveling. Not much was done in our day. Ada died June 1978 in Irving where we had her in a nursing home 6 blocks from us and about 3 blocks from the hospital, which came in handy many times
