[Stamps-Sites_TFS.FTW] James' death written on back of envelope by Hazel Stamps: "James Thompson Bishop died Dec. 23 5:30 am Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis, TN" KY Dept of Libraries and Archives, Frankfort, KY Barren Co., KY, microfilm # 7031856 Book 33, Page 215, File 28 1901: Lula T. Vance / James T. Bishop Bill Bishop recounts: "Tim as a thought from my past. When I think of your Great Grandfather James T. Bishop, uNCLE jIMMY t as I knew him in his last years. He had been a widower from his second wife for a few years in the early 1950's and lived in a boarding house down the street from our house. This was before the phrase Nursing Home was invented at least in Glasgow Ky. I remember him coming by our house and stopping for a while on his way to or from down town Glasgow where he and several other friends of his would set on the court house lawn (in the Court House on bad days) and trade knives, watches, and swap stories of the past. If only those stories could have been told to us today. I was able to get my first wrist watch from Uncle Jimmy T by trading to him my best pocket knife (one blade broken) and three dollars for the watch. The best deal I ever made, because the memory is priceless. I do not have a lot picture of James T., but I want to get you any thing I have and can round up about him." References
