North Carolina January 28th Day, one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy-Five, I James Barclift of the County foresaid
Perquimans County being very Porly but of perfect mind and _______ Thanks be to God for the same.Calling to mind the
Mortality of my Body nowing that it is destined for all men once to Die, Doth make, order and ordain this to bee My Last Will ad Testement, and as Tuching such worley Estate as it heath Pleased God to Bles me with in this life I give Despose and Demise of the Same in the following Manner and form____________.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my Brother William Barclift's Son WilliamBarclift, all my lands Consisting of about one hundred acres more or les to him and his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item - I give unto my Brother's son Joshua Barclift my young mare and Colt mare Called Spring to him and his heirs and assigns for ever, Likewise I give to the same Joshua Barclift Thirty Dri Hogs in the afore said manner.
Item - I give to my Brother's Daughter Elizabeth Barclift Ten head of sheep to her and her heirs & assigns forever.
Item - I give to my Brother's son William Barclift, seven head of sheep to him and his heirs for Ever.
Item - I give to my Brother's Daughter Sarah Barclift Two cows and Calf and two young cattle to her and her heirs forever.
Item - I give to the foresaid Joshua Barclift my gun to him and his heirs for Ever.
Item - I give the use of my Negro man Lon to my Brother William Barclift during his Life and after his Decest to his son William Barclift to him and his heirs and assigns for ever.
Item - I give one mare that I bought at Brilp Vandue to forsaid Sarah Barclift, Except the foal that she is with now --- and the said foal I give to the foresaid Elizabeth Barclift and one Sorrel horse to her and her heirs for ever.
Item - I give to my brother William Barclift's daughter Anne Barclift all the Remainder part of my Estate Consisting of some money and aut bothe amount of Thirty or forty Pounds more or les, Excepting one Chest and Two Plates I give to the above menshined Sarah Barclift.
