BALDIE, Jim, age 84 passed away October 27, 2006 at home in Bellingham. He was born March 7, 1922 in Yakima, WA to James Sr. and Norma Baldie. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, from 1942 to 1946. Jim married Arlene Davie on January 1, 1947 in Bellingham. He owned Jim's Cabinet Shop for over 40 years, and worked at WWU in maintenance from 1972 until his retirement in 1984. Jim's retirement hobby was family genealogy research. He was a devoted husband and a dependable father. Jim was a skilled carpenter. He built two homes in Bellingham, including his current residence, which he built at age 70. Jim is survived by his wife Arlene Baldie, sons Ronald (wife Ethel) of Pine, CO, Randall (wife Ruthanne) of Hillsboro, OR, Brian (wife Caroline) of Samish Island, WA, brother Bruce (wife Pat) of Yuma, AZ, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at Westford Funeral home on Wednesday November 1 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception across the street at Westford's Broadway Hall.
