James Cecil ARTHUR (2jun1883-11dec1942). James, Lord Glenarthur of Carlung, was b. in Scotland (scotlandspeople) and died in Estoril, Portugal (Times). James married 5feb1907 Evelyn March PHILIPPS (abt 1880-9may1959, Fairby, Tiverton, Devon, Times). Evelyn was daughter of Henry March Philipps (1853-1903) of Tiverton, Devon, and Charlotte Jones (dau of T. Lloyd Jones of Ontario, Canada) (thepeerage). In 1928 Capt. James Cecil Arthur, late Ayrshire Yeomanry, succeeded his father (Times). James was 2nd Baron Glenarthur of Carlung, Ayrs., educated at Eton and Oxford; his son, Matthew Arthur (12may1909-19may1976), was the 3rd Baron (Times).
