Facts and Events
In 1875, a gratuity of twenty dollars was given to 63 militia veterans of the War of 1812 still alive and domiciled on the south shore of the Saint-Laurent near Montréal. The list of these veterans was published in the "Bulletin des recherches historiques" (BRH) in 1953. No explanation or source of the information were given in the BRH. Jacques Poissant-Lasalline was listed therein as age 82 years, living in Sherrington, having been in the 1er Bataillon |
