Passed away peacefully at the St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville, on Monday August 1, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Much loved husband of Ute (Sterzenbach) Bax, cherished father of Brian Bax (Christine Murray) of Ottawa, dear brother of Cornelia Kronemeyer (the late John), Gerdina Vanmeurs (Henk), Maria Bax and Jeannette Runciman (Robert), and the late Anna Wolst (Theo), Thona Terpstra (Renze) and Obbe Bax (Margaretha). Sister- in- law Jutta Buecker (the late Juergen), also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Hermanus and Sybrigje Bax. At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank the caring Staff who attended Jake during his illness at St. Lawrence Lodge. In memory of Jake, donations to the St. Lawrence Lodge Foundation, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
