Source e-mail from Bill Dudte - "family tradiation states that Jacob was killed in 1813 near Fort Meigs (Toledo, Lucas Co.,) OH or died in 1813 after he returned home from the war." There is some pertinent information contained in the Biographical Record of Wood CO, OH on page 841 which, in part, states he was killed near Fort Meigs during the war of 1812. Page 398. Per Bill Dudte - It is possible that he was farming the land which had belonged to his father-in-law. Date shown is the date Jacob volunteered for service in the army. He was a Private in Captain Jonathan Rhoads Company attached to the First Battalion, 128th Regiment, First Brigade, Twelfth Division, PA Militia.
