    "Jacob Schuyler, son of Jacobus and Gertrude (Staats) Schuyler, was born at New Brunswick, New Jersey, March 24, 1734, died at Amsterdam, New York. He emigrated from the Schuyler homestead in New Jersey with his large family in 1790, and located first in Florida, Montgomery County, but finally too residence in Amsterdam, in the same county where he engaged in agricultural pursuits. he was a solder in the American Revolution. He married Eve Swackhammer."
