Jacob married Elizabeth Woods Been Hedrick in Wythe Co, VIRGINIA, January 25, 1806. Elizabeth was born 1771. Elizabeth died 1860 in Greene County, Tennessee

The following is a brief history of Jacob and Elizabeth Rader who made their way from Wythe County, Virginia some time after 1806 to Greene County, Tennessee They made their home on the rich bottom lands of Lick Creek in the western end of the county near Bulls Gap. On November 14, 1805 Daniel Slavens sold 284 acres of land located on the north side of Lick Creek in Greene County, Tennessee to Jacob Rader of Wythe County, Virginia. This deed was witnessed by his two brothers Henry and Phillip Rader. The Greene County, Tennessee tax lists of 1809 through 1812 indicated Jacob owned a total of 496 acres of land located on Lick Creek in Captain Joseph Kirk's Company. In 1816 Jacob lived in Captain Thomas Self s Company on Lick Creek and owned 475 acres of land. The 1828 tax list indicated Jacob was deceased and that his estate amounted to 659 acres of land located on Lick Creek in Captain McPherons Company. The tax list of 1830 did not contain Jacob but did indicate his widow Elizabeth was living in Captain McPherons Company on Lick Creek and owned 172 acres of land. In 1840 she was living in District number 6 and owned 172 acres of land. The death date of Jacob is not known but his Will was probated in Greene County, Tennessee on July 22, 1822. Jacob Reader (Rader) 22 July 1822 $1200 Wife, Elizabeth, to get equal part. Executors: Wife, Elizabeth, John Etter. Written 18 May 1822. Witnesses: Turner Sharpe, James Guthrie. signed : Jacob Rader In 1800 Jacob was listed as a subscriber for the building of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Wytheville, Virginia(See "Wythe County Chapters" edited and published by James S. Presgraves). On November 14, 1805 Jacob purchased 289 acres of land located on the north side of Lick Creek in Greene County, Tennessee and listed his residence as Wythe County, Virginia The Greene County tax list of 1812 indicated he owned 496 acres of land. In 1830 Elizabeth was living along Lick Creek and owned 172 acres of land(Tax list). On May 18, 1822 Jacob wrote his Will and indicated that all his heirs were to share in his property. This Will was probated in Greene County, Tennessee on July 22, 1822. On January 30, 1830 the family of Jacob Rader divided the landed estate of their father and this is recorded in a deed of the same date, deed book number 17, page 277. This record is important since it lists all the children and son in laws of Jacob Rader. The inventory of Jacob Rader's estate was recorded in the Greene County, Tennessee Inventory of Estates, pages 354 and 355 and dated October 18, 1834. This record also lists all the children of Jacob Rader. Elizabeth, the wife of Jacob Rader, died sometime between 1860 and 1870. She was living in Greene County, Tennessee with her youngest son Peter R. Rader in 1850 and 1860 (Census).
